Robbers Loot Apostolic Church In Lagos, Batter Pastor

Recently, dare devil armed robbers stormed Apostolic Church, located at No 22, Awanatu Street, Papa Ajao in Mushin area of Lagos, smashed the doors and windows of the church and looted the place.

Still not satisfied, the robbers, who reportedly arrived the church premises early in the morning, entered the apartment of Rev Hachariah Adelakun, the resident pastor. Our correspondent gathered that Adelakun was allegedly battered to submission at gunpoint, after which the robbers carted away cash, phones, CCTV equipment and other valuable items from the apartment.

However, the matter was reported to the police in Mushin and weeks after, one David Timothy was arrested and when drilled confessed to anti-robbery police officers that he participated in the robbery operation.
Police sources said anti-robbery officers are on the trail of the other suspects linked with the looting of the church and the pastor.

However, Timothy was dragged before Ogba Magistrate court in Lagosand charged with conspiracy and stealing.
According to the police, the suspect and others at large allegedly conspired, burgled and robbed a place of worship.
Timothy, however, pleaded not guilty and Mr M.k.O. Fadiyi, the Presiding Magistrate granted him bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
